Sewerage

Sewerage refers to the infrastructure that is responsible for collecting and transporting the waste materials and sewage from households, businesses, and industrial facilities. The sewerage system typically comprises a network of pipes, pumps, and other equipment designed to facilitate the smooth flow of wastewater from its point of origin to the point of treatment or disposal. The system can be divided into two primary components: the sanitary sewer system and the storm sewer system. The former is designed to handle domestic and industrial wastewater, while the latter deals with surface runoff and rainwater. Proper maintenance and operation of the sewerage system are critical to ensure public health and the environment’s protection. Regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades are necessary to prevent blockages, overflows, and leaks that could result in contamination of water sources and cause harm to humans and wildlife.
